Aage SØndergaard Nielsen started Sondex 32 years ago in Kolding Denmark and at 74 years of age has decided it is time to retire. Since it’s humble beginnings, Sondex has grown into a worldwide company with over 1,200 employees that leads the industry in heat transfer solutions. Predominately known in Australia and New Zealand for high quality plate heat exchangers, Sondex A/S also boasts an enormous success in related products such as pumps, district heating units and other supplementary products to heat exchangers.
SØndergaard made the decision to relinquish Sondex to Danfoss late last week and is excited to watch his global brand develop with Danfoss into the future. He wrote:
“We are very pleased with the opportunity to join forces with a market-leading and renowned business partner with whom Danfoss already has a strong and long-standing relationship in key markets and segments.”
Danfoss is a global organisation that branches across various different industries including district heating, power solutions, refrigeration and air conditioning just to name a few. They are a large company with over 23,400 employees across over 100 countries.
Lars Tveen, who is the President of the Danfoss Heating Segment, is also looking forward to the growth that Sondex can offer to the Danfoss Heating Segment:
“Our companies already enjoy a strong and long-standing relationship, and I am thrilled about the opportunity to join forces with a strong partner to create a global leader in heat transfer solutions.”
By merging with Sondex, the Danfoss Heating Segment has now acquired 12 additional factories to add to their existing 19 factories. Both companies bring with them a wealth of experience in the industry and SØndergaard is confident that the acquisition will greatly benefit our clientele:
“By joining forces we are able to offer a broader, even more competitive and innovative product and service portfolio within the heat transfer [industry, providing huge] benefit[s to] our customers.”
